Just understand that until you stop using your default audio device that you listen to audio with on your computer as your desktop mix in obs, you can’t separate anything, and also understand that once you remove desktop mix, ANY audio that you need people to be hearing happening on your computer needs to be fed to obs via virtual audio cables or application audio capture, and if you need to hear it too, enable monitoring for that source in advanced audio properties (monitor only means that only you hear it, output only means that you don’t hear it but your stream/recording does).
I had even uninstalled VAC and reinstalled. Everything is up to date with all of the drivers, as well as OBS. Still can't get vocals through to OBS Studio. Open the settings area and click the Audio tab. We didn't change any settings from the last stream we aired. OBS only has one audio output bus that you can use with a virtual audio cable. It’s so much better than it once was but it’s still a pretty major thing to conceptually grasp. We're unable to use VB Virtual Audio Cable for some unknown reason. You need to not use a desktop audio mix though and have your headphones as a monitoring device and just assign the audio sources to tracks and then set the numbered tracks for streaming and recording however you see fit.Īudio is always a hurdle for new creators.
